.Com.au Domain Kicks Some Goals
Yesterday I helped Steve Wells a friend and client of mine to pick up a .com.au domain from the drops. The domain we were going after was www.Goals.com.au which is great name for Steve as part of his business is working in the Peak Performance area with companies and athletes.
Here is a brief bio of Steve -
Steve Wells is an internationally recognised psychologist, professional speaker, and peak performance consultant who regularly teaches and consults worldwide with elite athletes and business achievers to improve their performance and enhance the performance of their teams.
Steve is Managing Director of an international training and development company Steve Wells and Associates Pty Ltd that has been in operation since 1996, and conducts regular programs throughout Australia, Europe, USA, UK, Canada, and Singapore. He is also a founding partner of ExecEdge an organisation providing high-level consultancy and corporate development programs for business leaders.
As far as one word generic domains go I think it is a winner and once it is developed over time it will be great for Steve’s business.
This was a great experience for Steve as it was the first time he had participated in a drop auction for domains and he certainly felt the adrenalin rush as the bidding on the name heated up and was getting close to his maximum price he was prepared to pay. The domain ended up going for AUS$2999 which was a great buy in my opinion.
The domain had been registered for the past 8 years but nothing was ever done with it as far as I can tell from using the Wayback Machine
So always be on the lookout in the domain drop catches as you never know when the next great domain is coming down the expired pipeline.
Cheers
